The State of Casual Guilds
"Casual friendly", is something Sunwell Plateau is not. As we took the first few bosses to farm status, Sunwell has given us great joy that Black Temple and Mount Hyjal (while very enjoyable and very satisfying to have cleared) did not quite do. It's been challenging and fun.
Being a casual raiding guild, raiding only twice a week on 25 man content, places like Black Temple and Hyjal which seemed like spending time there was the only requirement to progress, hid our true colors.
Sunwell Plateau, on the other hand... is designed to keep people entertained until Wrath of the Lich King is released. The place is tuned to higher skill level, organization, motivation, and determination. There have been many debates on various forums about whether encounters in this raid zone is too highly tuned or not.
Too hard for a casual guild to get through? Well... Let us show you!
Nightbane the Unclean
Felmyst was definitely reminiscent of Heigan the Unclean and Nightbane. However, instead of just running the same patterns every time, we had to depend on Elumako. Yes, that's right. We let Elumako hold our lives in his hands. As a result, everyone gained much respect and spontaneously thanked him for his contribution.
Felmyst tested our reaction time to not standing in things that are unsafe to stand in (or on).
With some preparation and a group of overly excited group of people, Felmyst went down in 3 days of serious attempts.
Hardest Bosses in WoW
With Felmyst down, we were not going to stop here. On to the next boss on the list!! Who is this ferocious, devious, unrelenting, uber boss, you say?
Could it be her? Or is it this one?
Actually, it's this one.

How many times have we wiped to the ledge boss? Well... Ask Oniji.
Once we finally got to working on the Eredar Twins, things went quickly. Why? (Click on the images for the answer)
A good portion of our twins attempts were of "Yes! It's going well. Keep going!!".... "KABOOOM!!!"
So what did it take to take the twins down in just three days of attempts?
Apparently it had to do with having Styg on Aristaroh, ruining his image, and popping heroism at the pull call.
Little did we know, that we'd come back and absolutely demolish them the next week, by one shotting them with all 25 people up at the end of the fight.
Casual Raiding, Hardcore Mentality
So back to the original topic. Being casual is only a state of mind. Regardless of our schedule, our hardcore mentality of prepping for raids, playing with skills, and being the well organized guild we are, we remain not only competitive, but leave many guilds behind in the dust.
With that said, we don't really care about what the other guilds are doing. We never have. The efficient raiding through content tuned to be difficult, with a casual schedule, has always been something that we've shined at doing. We're faced with another difficultly tuned encounter, M'uru.
Let's show M'uru what we are made of, gang!
